Join us at the Spread as we shuck the night away, for a good cause of course!
Chef Carlos has come up with an extensive Oyster menu that can be found here http://www.thespreadsono.com/dinner-events.html.
The Sheffield Island Lighthouse Education Program will be the beneficiary of several ways you can help raise money.
Don’t know about them?
Well, this is what they are all about:
“The purpose of the Norwalk Seaport Association’s Sheffield Island Lighthouse shall to be foster public awareness of our marine resources, environment, and heritage through research, education and preservation.
Our members believe that Norwalk’s historic role as a seaport and shellfish center should be preserved for the benefit of its citizens. We also believe that we have a role to play to educate our children on issues pertaining to the quality of our water resources, both in the Norwalk Harbor and the Long Island Sound.”
We will be collecting an optional $10 donation at the door the night of the 3rd- 100% of which will go the program! There will also be a cash-only shucking bar featuring our now famous Tuesday night $1 oysters- again 100% of which will go to the program.
The Spread will be donating a portion of all the food sales from the evening as well. Local photographer Peter Massini will have some of work on display and available for purchase, and he has also generously offered to donate a portion of his proceeds to the program.
Norm Bloom is donating his Copps Island Oysters to the festivities and will be on site to answer any questions if you play your timing right and catch him while he’s at The Spread.
There will be plenty of other reasons to join like the Azunia tequila “Silver Sangrita” shooters; and the wines and bubbles chosen to perfectly complement the oysters.
We look forward to seeing you all at The Spread for a wonderful cause on a wonderful evening.
